Cathy DeLanoy, soprano

Cathy DeLanoy, sopranoCatherine DeLanoy has been a member of CCA since 1999 and has served on the Board of Directors for many years. She has taught music at every grade level in the public school system and has recently retired from teaching at Westmont Junior High School where she taught general music and directed their four choirs. WJH choirs consistently earned top scores, honors and prestigious performances under her direction.

Cathy enjoyed arranging compositions for her own choirs and continues to have her octavos published by Hal Leonard, Shawnee Press, Boosey & Hawkes, Bri-Lee Music and Carl Fischer Inc. Her resource books are the best selling WARMING UP WITH ROUNDS and more recently, 8 STEPS TO HARMONIZATION. ( both Shawnee Press)

Ms. DeLanoy occasionally enjoys teaching graduate classes at VanderCook College of Music. She also works as a middle school choir specialist doing clinics, conducting and adjudicating whenever possible. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan and went on to earn her Masters of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago.
